Fixes:
( 1) Fixed a number of minor error handling problems which could have caused spurious error messages.
( 2) Fixed a problem which caused line spacing to be lost when pasting HTML text and processing as HTML.
( 3) Fixed a regression which prevented most function keys from being recognized when pressed in a text input box.
For example, in the Find text box {F3} key (find next) and {Shift}+{F3} keys (find previous) were spuriously ignored.
( 4) Fixed a long standing problem which caused pasting of F7 special characters to always be inserted at the
beginning of the filter include or exclude text input boxes rather than at the cursor position.
( 5) Fixed a problem where a list file containing a file name with an embedded space would replace said space
with "%20". This should only be done for urls and has been fixed.
( 6) Most people won't need it but, for very large files, > 2MB (the maximum buffer size), you have to use
multiple buffers. Multiple small buffers are also useful to speed up filtering operations particularly on slower
systems. If you wanted to do a Copy and edit of the whole file it did not work correctly. We have remediated
that problem such that you can now use Copy and edit for the whole file even if there are multiple buffers.
( 7) Fixed a minor problem when using Copy and edit on text containing context characters. When requesting their
removal the last instance was not always removed when it appeared at the start of an otherwise blank line.
( 8) Fixed a keyboard handler problem when using some quick keys in the scratch pad.
( 9) Fixed a problem with hover help of keyboard shortcuts (on the hover help button). For smaller screen sizes
this window would flicker and be illegible.
(10) Fixed a problem with local labels which contained lowercase text. They were incorrectly converted to
uppercase which caused them to not be recognized.
(11) Fixed a problem which occurred occasionally with short anchor strings, e.g., <a href="...">1</a> which
could possibly have caused subsequent anchors to fail.
(12) Urls containing embedded UNICODE characters such as [backslash]U003d were considered invalid. If the UNICODE
character maps to a valid ASCII character then the url is considered valid.
Changes:
( 1) We have modified the matched text extraction facility (right-click of the Refresh button) to make it
easier to use. We've also improved the instructions to make its various options more understandable.
( 2) We've added the ability, when extracting matched text, to extract all of the matches for each line
using only one match token, viz., ?*?. This must be the only match token specified. For example,
matching the line 1 fox, 22 dogs, 33 birds, 4 cows, and 55 pigs with [backslash]d+ and using the match
token f(?*?.0) + will append the following to the scratchpad:
f(1.0) + f(22.0) + f(33.0) + f(4.0) + f(55.0) +.
( 3) {Ctrl}+{F4} will select the next "RCFV line" (paragraph). {Shift}+{Ctrl}+{F4} will select
the previous "RCFV line" (paragraph).
( 4) Added the option to reformat the text when paragraph separators are elided when pasting (or
dropping) text to the viewer. This often happens when copying text from a pdf or an email. This may
not work 100% of the time but typically provides a more readable document by inserting blank lines
between most paragraphs.
( 5) Added more control over the order of files/urls in the file list via improved sorting options and
the ability to use the {F12} key plus related chords to swap "slot" locations. The {F12} key chords
may be used in both the viewer window and the file list window:
{F12} = Swaps the current file with the next one (with wrap).
{Shift}+{F12} = Swaps the current file with the previous one (with wrap).
{Ctrl}+{F12} = Swaps the current file with the last one (or first if it is the last).
{Shift}+{Ctrl}+{F12} = Swaps the current file with the first one (or last if it is the first).
( 7) When the cursor is in the viewer portion of the main window RCFV likes to select text around
the cursor. You might not like this behavior if you want to use Copy and edit on the whole
buffer/file. To simplify this process when text is selected we have added the chord {Alt}+{Shift}+{c}
which will invoke Copy and edit after clearing any selection. Of course, you can always press the {Esc}
key to clear a selection in the viewer. This is also useful when you want to invoke Copy and edit of the
whole buffer from the scratch pad or an input box, e.g., Find. Note that pressing the {Alt} key
while simultaneously pressing the Copy and edit button will also clear any highligted text.
( 8) Added some HTML meta information plus redefined non-breaking spaces such that leading spaces in the
generated HTML will be displayed correctly regardless of the renderer.
( 9) Added the ability to press a key modifier, e.g. {Ctrl} while pressing the F2 button to provide
the same behavior as if the {F2} key were pressed.
(10) Right-clicking {F1} in the button bar used to toggle hover help. You can use the {h} key for that
if needed. For consistency it now does the same thing as right-clicking the Help button, viz., it will
display the About window and give you the option of checking the Takamomto, LLC website to see if
there are any updates to the program.
(11) Updated the list of suspect urls from http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt which is no longer
updated to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/refs/heads/master/hosts
(12) If you highlighted a single line that contained a single url we would automatically open the left button
context menu which, unfortunately, made it difficult to select such text without selecting at least one
additional line (which could be blank). This behavior is not optimal and we have removed it. The left button
context menu will only appear if you highlight (or click on) just the url text.
(13) Line numbering now ignores the Auto Refresh setting and is effectuated immediately.
